According to Microsoft, installing the KB4493509 update on Windows 10 computers with some Asian language packs installed results in 0x800f0982 error. Microsoft is currently working on a fix and will provide an update in an upcoming release. Describing the issue, Microsoft said:
"After installing KB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive the error, "0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND."
How to fix 0x800f0982 error after installing KB4493509 update
Affected Windows 10 users can uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs:
- Select the Start button
- Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language
- Select the language you want to remove > Click Remove.
- Go back to Settings > Time & Language > Language
- Choose a language from the Add a language list
- Select Download from the Download language pack option
- After the language pack is installed, select Back
- Choose a language from the Windows display language menu.
Alternatively, affected users can select Check for Updates and install the April 2019 Cumulative Update. In case none of the above-mentioned solutions work for you, simply try resetting your Windows 10 PC:
- Go to the Settings app > Recovery
- Select Get Started under the Reset this PC recovery option
- Select Keep my Files
